What is the difference between grade & stage of cancer? How does the grade affect recurrence rate?
IN my own words, grade is a way of measuring the degree of cancer spread, staging helps a doctor plan your treatment. Grade 1 is like DCIS(ductal insitu breast cancer, has not spread to any other tissue or broken through the ductal wall) and then the grades progress from there denoting the tumor spreading outside the primary site, into lymph nodes, and then into other organs. Generally, the higher the grade, the better the chance of local or metastatic recurrence.
I can tell you are educating yourself…however, do not stress about things that have not happened yet. Be good to yourself, treat yourself, try to manage your stress levels as you need all of your strength while you go through your treatments…
