i don't know if this has been covered, i've looked, but havent been able to find it. what is the point system all about? is it rep, or is it something different?

if you click on user cp, and scroll down, you can see your rep points....
I just checked mine, I have 41 rep points and 42 points on my main profile...

I don't know if they are associated

Agreed! I'm surely not an expert at running this board thing yet. I was a mod somewhere else before but never ran the whole thing as an admin. I'll try to find an explanation and post it here today.

I notice the points on my homepage have gone up. It might be related to my post count. :D

For every day you are here and remain active you get a point.
For every 10 posts you get a point.
I also think that as you give others rep, your rep power goes up so you get more green bars as well as when people give you rep.

That's about all I can come up with. On the vB forums there isn't alot of eexplanation on this.
