I was interviewed by Amy from the L A Times today over how I felt about the boys being suspended /or fired . I told her I have canceled my XM 3 radios . And was looking into suing Xm for the cost of radios they sold me under false and fraudulent adds that said XL unfiltered extreme O & A .
They flat out lied to sell subs.

The point isn't censorship, its money. XM being a pay service, minimal advertisers, supposed no censorship. If I'm Eric Logan and I go and hire OandA, do I know they are going to be shocking? Of course I do, that's why I hire them - no such thing as bad publicity (remember this for test later). So when a guest on the show spouts insulting comments instead of XM taking responsibility and saying, "Yeah we knew this would happen and we support our jocks", they use the jocks as a scape goats to protect their bottom line. The bottom line isn't advertising in this case, it's the precious merger. How much stock do you think the executives of XM and Sirius own? Well let me tell you: from XM you have George Weaver Hayword who has 3,953,653 shares or maybe Gary Parsons 256,431 shares (today's closing price $10.48). Okay now let's look on the Sirius side: Mel Karmazin with 6,500,000 shares or Joseph Paul Clayton with 3,775,785 (today's closing price $2.69). So if I'm Mel with 6,500,000 shares and this incident with OandA might stop this merger (which (the merger) will probably triple my money) you bet your ass I need a scape goat. So why would this effect the merger you ask (or not, but I'm going to tell you anyway)? Because on capital hill the democrats are pissed about the right controlling most radio. They want the "Fairness Doctrine" brought back which forces licensees to have an equal amount of right and left shows. The Fairness Doctrine was abolished in 1987 due to lack of interest (haha) and because people realized it's the government's way to force ideals on folks. I'm not making a political statement here just giving you the facts, check'em yourself, I will provide sources. So after that long story, back to your question, is this about censorship? Nope, but that's what the execs want you to think. Better that than the real story. Remember my line about "no such thing as bad press" XM is living by this. They would gain subscribers just from the media coverage around the OandA scandal. BUT, with the merger they will make 100 times more money so it's smarter to suspend/fire OandA take the small hit there and make Washington happy. Shows they are a "responsible company to allow a merger".
