I know we have a lot of country music fans here. This week I haven't listened to XM much, got out the Ipod and have been listening to other things.
So what music and shows have you been listening to on X Country? Any great songs to look out for?
On X Country you never know what they will play, sometimes we'll hear a song that they never played before but was an oldie but one of the best songs. One of those old songs was Desperados waiting for the train by Jerry Jeff Walker (Guy Clark also did this song). Then there is the classic Highway Patrolman done by Johhny Cash and a few others.
On X Country they have the Barn Burnin show that i like alot and I have filled my Inno with songs from that show including Steve Earle's Billy and Bonnie. It's funny hearing Dolly Parton singing Stairway to Heaven.

I like to listen to Smoke Stack on Saturdays. I like that classic southern rock style.

Before I got my XM radio, I would listen to Country music on the internet or just watch CMT. Now that I have my XM, I rarely listen to the music. I usually just listen to Channel 202.

No offence to anyone who listens to ountry music, but I fucking hate it... HATE!
If I were the best man at a wedding and they started playing nothing but country music I would leave, give my best wishes and leave.
HATE IT!
I have left work functions and parties because of my hatred for country music.
I don't hate any other kind of music, there are many genre's I do not particularily like, but none I hate.
If I could flick a switch and change it I would.

So why post in a thread about it if you hate it? The thread title says X Country favorite songs. Obviously you don't have any.

I have a different point of view so I thought I would post it.
But maybe I should take my points of view elsewhere because they obviously aren't welcome here...:D

I hate to admit it, but if it weren't for 202 I really wouldn't be listening to xm much. My Living Dead Girl says I'm gonna rot my brain on O&A and R&F...I'm a zombie, I'm already rotten.

Okay I do love anything Johnny Cash ever sang so I guess I'm a country fan when it comes to him.
Do you know what you get when you play country music backwards?
You get your job back, the dog comes home. they find your pickup truck, your wife returns, the mill re-opens..so on and so forth.

Which is why I stay away from Highway 16 and Country music on Terrestrial radio, it sounds like just like a pop station.
I like alot of what X Country plays because it's what the other radio stations and Country staions on XM don't play.

It was the only channel for a long time for me. There was a while when I got bored with Ron & Fez and started listening to alot of music instead. Now that I have an audible sub, I put O&A on my Ipod and now I don't have to hurry and listen to the shows like I had to on the Inno.

how much is the audible sub? and are the ron and fez show on there too?

It's just the O&A show. The one year sub was just over $50 but you can only download that days shows, you can't go back and grab shows you missed so you have to make sure you download that days show. XM tends to sound a bit better but not by much so it's not that big of a deal. I hate that the Inno erases recordings when it needs to so I can never save a weeks worth of R&F while recording O&A at the same time on it so hopefully this solved that problem.

I'm not a country fan, at all.....can't stand it. But Hank 3 has some wild-sounding stuff from what I've heard. "Dick in Dixie" had me laughing my ass off. He plays bass for a metal band, too.....Superjoint Ritual.
