Police say a manager at the Villa Rica Waffle House hid a tiny wireless camera beneath the sink in the women's bathroom. He now faces felony charges.
Atlanta, GA -- The list of evidence in Villa Rica's latest crime starts simply: a rubber band, a nine volt battery, and a tiny camera.
Capt. Brian Camp with the Villa Rica Police Department puts it all together, saying, "He used the rubber bands to secure this camera under the sink in the women's bathroom. If you were looking for it, you would have seen it."
Police say Keith Christman, a manager at the Waffle House on Conners Road, used the wireless camera to capture images of women using the bathroom. The wireless camera would send the live streaming video to a receiver connected the restaurant's computer. Police say he would then burn the images onto a disk.
"From everything that we can see right now, it was for his own personal use," Capt. Camp said.
Police searched Christman's home and discovered two laptops, six hard drives, and binders full of disks. Investigators don't know yet how many hours of bathroom video he might have captured.
Police say he confessed to using the same scheme at four other Villa Rica restaurants.
Authorities are not releasing the names of those restaurants until their investigation is over. According to police, Christman confessed to planting the cameras, then watching the live streaming video from his car.
Christman's high-tech camera is now locked away in the Villa Rica police evidence room. Christman is now locked away in the Carroll County jail.
