I'll post the lyrics to this song by Diamond Rio, called God Only Cries.

It's for my mother who left the earth one year ago today I miss you mom. You were my best friend and we always shared everything together. It's been a very long year.

I'll post the lyrics to this song by Diamond Rio, called God Only Cries.

On an icy road one night
A young man loses his life
They marked the shoulder with a cross
An' his family gathers round
On a piece of Hallowed ground
Their hearts are heavy with their loss
As the tears fall from their eyes
There's one who'll always sympathise.

God only cries for the living
'Cause it's the living that are left to carry on
An' all the angels up in Heaven
They're not grieving because they're gone
There's a smile on their faces
'Cause they're in a better place than, mmm, baby, than, oh
God only cries for the living
'Cause it's the living that are so far from home.

It still makes me sad
When I think of my Grand-dad
I miss him each and every day
But I know the time will come
When my own gradnson
Wonders why I went away
Maybe we're not meant to understand
Till we meet up in the Promised Land.

God only cries for the living
'Cause it's the living that are left to carry on
And all the angels up in Heaven
They're not grieving because they're gone
There's a smile on their faces
'Cause they're in a better place than, oh, baby, than oh
God only cries for the living
'Cause it's the living that are so far from home
Yeah, we're so far from home, Mmmm, Mmmm

Toni, that's a beautiful song, and a loving tribute to her... I'm sure she's smiling down on you and watching you always... and I'm sure she misses you just as much... but she's always with you, remember that!! ((((hugs))))

Hilary - I have to say your post actually brought tears to my eyes. I lost my aunt (who was like my mother) to cancer 2 weeks ago.... I know how much it hurts to lose someone you love so much and I feel your pain. Know she is looking down on you everyday and is always with you in your heart, mind, and soul. I am now going to find that song to listen to it. Stay strong and if you ever want to talk PM me please!!

Wow... that brought a lot of memories back, Hil and Dest... I kinda know how ya feel... I lost my grandfather about 7 yrs ago... but yet it still feels like yesterday... he was the type of guy ya never thought would die... he had multiple strokes, but always battled through.. he wouldn't use a cane, but would instead tie a belt to the laces of the shoe on his "dead leg" to pull it up to walk... there are soooo many great stories of this man... and i miss him to this day.... but the thing that helped me get over his death was remembering the great moments we had together... i mean something as simple as remembering him coming to one of my basketball games in college and the smile he had on his face watching me play... what a cliche type of thing to say, but it truly helps...

Whelp....This is Chris the guy who plays the 2ndSweetestBoy.
I'm in the same boat as the rest of you. I almost lost my mother when I was 11 to Cervical Cancer. And I lost my Grandparents to various forms of Cancer. I've also had my own personal demons, that have nearly costed me. But Babe for what it's worth I'm sure she's proud of you. There's no reason not to. :Hug for someone we all Care for:

Toni,

Hopefully the fact that Big AAAAAAA gave his sympathy is cause for relief. I lost my grandfather almost a year ago, and it was pretty sad. I remember him as the lively guy he was, and not the ghostly fella at the hospice. I think of him all the time, and it makes me smile to think he's watching me.

Despite the problems my mother and I have, it would be tough to imagine her gone from my life, although it would be significantly quieter and I could pick up my phone safely.

Toni and Dest, sorry for your loss. Both of my parents are gone and I miss them every day. As much as we fool around and tool on each other, there is also time for respect. All my best.

Now back to Swallow being Swallow. :bananadance:
