A Columbia man has been arrested on a charge that he hit his daughter’s boyfriend in the head with an axe, Columbia police said.
Randy Clayton Norman, 51, has been charged with attempted first degree murder for the assault at a home on Nicholas Long Drive, Columbia police said.
The boyfriend, Timothy Michael Fuller, 31, remains in critical condition. He was taken by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville after the 2:33 a.m. attack, Columbia officials said.
A Columbia detective is traveling to Vanderbilt to continue the investigation, Maury officials said.
