Ok I was wondering if any of you have experiences, good or bad, with a boombox style radio for the Roady XT... I recently got a new job that affords me the luxury of a window office, and I was wondering if anyone has had sucess setting up a boombox in an office building setting... the building I am in has a concrete exterior, but my office has full floor to ceiling windows that face southeast..
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would love to listen to the full live shows of O&A and the Ron, and ESD show...

I have never actually used the boombox, BUT my roady2 AND my MyFi both work indoors without the "house" antenna. and normally, i don't even have them near a window....
IF you already have the roady, and no boombox, take the roady indoors.
any electronics store, even most grocery stores or auto parts stores sell a 12v dc to 120 v ac converter for about 10 dollars...use a regular am/fm radio and the car antenna to see how well you actually get service inside...
if it works without the boombox, it should work better with it...

Cool... I appreciate the input... I was actually thinking about buying a new "home kit" for work since it is cheaper then a boombox, and I have a nice little stereo I can put in my office... So i may try just a power adapter from Radioshack and see if it works...

I will say, the adapters are very nice...plug your car power plug in, plug it into the wall, and done...
Wall chargers for cell phones are like $40. The adapter is 10, the car charger is 8, and if i need it, i take it to the truck, no need for 2 chargers...same for the XM plugs....I had my MyFi plugged into a car charger adapter for months, cause the house charger is too big, took up too much space on the power strip....

Oh i was just going to buy one of the AC adapters at radio shack for about 10-12 bucks and get the right "pin" that fits the Roady XT... but that adapter your talking about sounds better...

I have a cheapo Jensen Radio and cheapo Audiovox Boombox that I use at work, the way my anntenea is aimed it has to go not only a 6 inch thick wall, a roof overhang, as well as a 1/16 of an inch of stainless steel, also as well as several other stainless steel things and gadgets in the kitchen and I still get good reception. The only thing that kills my reception is the microwave, appearntly the anntenea is picking up the Radiated Radio waves from over 20 feet away.
